On Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 the 8th Annual Daniel Furr Memorial Scholarship Tournament was held at Connestee Falls GC in Brevard, NC.   Joe and Sandra were joined by 86 golfers and 18 volunteers on a beautiful afternoon.  $8,000 in net proceeds earned will provide scholarships for another 10 local college students in 2017.  So far the J. Daniel Furr Memorial Scholarship Fund has benefited 93 students by awarding over $62,000.  At the BBQ awards dinner prizes for first, second, and third place teams were awarded.  Prizes were also awarded for 3 Longest Drives, 3 Closest to Pins, ten raffle gifts and more.  A wonderful day of fun, fellowship, beautiful scenery, nice prizes, and great food was enjoyed by all.  Sandra and Joe expressed much gratitude for the generosity of sponsors, donors, participants, and for answered prayers that made this year’s event possible. “We are humbled by the support and kindness we receive each year from so many and we are especially grateful to our LORD for faithfully bringing everything together for the benefit of many.”
