THE 10TH ANNUAL DANIEL FURR Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament was held on Sunday, October 7th, 2018 at Connestee Falls GC in Brevard, NC. After many months of preparations extra prayers were needed due to a very rainy forecast. Our prayers were answered with near perfect weather for the day. Hosts Joe and Sandra Furr were joined by 83 golfers and 19 volunteers. Many thanks to all 10 of the Major Sponsors and the 21 Hole Sponsors. Nice prizes were donated by 25 area businesses. For the day, $9,350 was raised for the J. Daniel Furr Memorial Scholarship which will be awarded to 11 more local BRCC college students in early 2019. Thank you LORD Jesus for once again bringing everything together for the benefit of many in Daniel’s generation and for showing Your Faithfulness each day.
After golf, the awards dinner was held at Atagahi Park. We enjoyed Gary’s famous BBQ and George’s amazing Brunswick Stew plus all the trimmings. Prizes were awarded to top 3 finishing teams, 3 longest drives, and 4 closest to the pins. 10 raffle drawings for gifts were held. Ten year participants, Danny Harville and Dennis Clark were both honored with special gifts. We offer hearts full of gratitude to the many who made this event possible and especially to our Gracious LORD. May HE be glorified as many are blessed.
