The Ninth Annual Daniel Furr Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament came to Connestee Falls Golf Club in Brevard, NC on Sunday, October 1st, 2017. 81 golfers enjoyed a beautiful cool fall afternoon and a 1:30 pm start. After golf we gathered at Atagahi Park for an awards BBQ dinner with Brunswick stew. Two participants were awarded special prizes for playing in all 9 Daniel Furr Tournaments: Dennis Clark won a $500 guided fly fishing trip for 2 from Headwaters Outfitters. Danny Harville won a $100 dinner for 2 from Jaime’s Creole Brasserie of Brevard. SEE OTHER PRIZES won below.
We saw the fingerprints of our LORD throughout the entire tournament with the great weather, a near full field of golfers, 20 helpful volunteers, generous sponsors and donors, nice prizes, delicious food and fellowship enjoyed by all. Thanks so much for all of the prayers that went forth.
$8,500 in proceeds from the Tournament go to the J. Daniel Furr Memorial Scholarship Fund making 10 more scholarships available for area college students. Over $70,000 has been raised from the nine Daniel Furr Memorial Tournaments increasing the scholarships offered to over 100.
